The ongoing
dispute between former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar and PTV channel has
taken a new turn. Now Pakistan TV Corporation has sent a notice of Rs 10 crore
to Shoaib Akhtar in the defamation case. A defamation notice has been given to
Akhtar by PTV for causing heavy losses and for being involved in discussions
with an Indian channel along with Harbhajan Singh. After the match played
between Pakistan and New Zealand on 26 October, during the discussion on PTV,
there was an argument with anchor Nauman Niaz. After which Shoaib Akhtar had
resigned on air, due to which the channel has suffered a lot of financial
loss.

defamation notice to Shoaib Akhtar
Defamation
notice, Pakistan TV Corporation has asked Shoaib Akhtar to pay an amount of 100
million Pakistani rupees along with three months' salary. If Shoaib Akhtar does
not do this then PTV can take legal action against him in the court. The notice
states that as per Class 22, either of the parties can terminate its agreement
only after serving a notice period of three months. But Shoaib Akhtar resigned
on air on 26 October.

Expresses Disappointed

Akhtar expressed his dismay as soon as he got the defamation notice from PTV.
Rawalpindi Express tweeted and wrote, I am extremely disappointed, they failed
to protect my honor when I was working for PTV, now they are sending me
recovery notice, I am a fighter and will not give up, My lawyer Salman Niazi
will answer this matter on legal grounds.
