The ICC has categorically refused to play a role in the revival of Pak-India cricket |
Matches
between Pakistan and India are popular all over the world and are watched with
gusto but for many years there has been no bilateral series between the two
countries. India refuses to play with Pakistan for political reasons while
International Cricket Council Has also made it clear that it will not play any
role in this regard.
In an
interview, acting chief executive Jeff Allardyce was asked if the governing
council could play a role in hosting the bilateral series between the two
countries. We have a lot of fun playing against, like any other mutual series,
it depends on the two boards whether they are ready to play each other or not,
we do not see any possibility in this regard.
When asked if the two countries would continue to play separately in the same
Test Championship, he said that if the two teams reached the final, then they
would play a Test match against each other at a neutral venue.
Asked if the
ICC would similarly keep them in the same group in its limited overs
tournaments so that they could play each other, Allardyce said it depended on
their ranking until the cut-off date. Well, at first the two were not in the
same group for this tournament but came to the cut off date, so I don't know if
they will be in the same group in Australia next year.
